As a regular contributor to the publication, I aim to raise awareness of many of the issues that appear as subject for my art. My practice is currently moving toward historical relevance of art and the irony of themes repeating themselves. This is less reflected within my articles however other issues that directly involve or effect students do. My drive is to remove the ingrained capitalist mindset and reach people to rework their beliefs of the 'norm'. Writing for this cities publication is a step toward that and is directly linked to my art practice. It has also unveiled how well people respond to written word. I feel that articles with works of art would impact more than art alone as the response I have had to the article is much larger and meaningful compared to an art piece.
