To develop my practice I have progressed to use found imagery surrounding the historical argument much of my theme is based upon. Therefore I decided to use this image within a piece that aims to show the meaning ironically. The work is a mosaic based piece after my analysis of the historical importance of such. The mosaic, made upon the image is then covered, suffocated by a coloured spray paint. This is to show how the messages, ideas and warnings of the 1979 conference are still there however history has built around and on top of them. As we progress into an ever more desperate time for the climate, now is when art activism should be addressed as a serious approach to change. Works such as this provide questions to be raised and ideally realisation to be reached. This work will be displayed on the floor of the exhibition, this is to highlight a transition of time and disregard. Much artwork, displayed on the walls is admired however, the floor display will hopefully jolt participation to step on the past and path the way for the future. The floor positioning is also designed to test perspectives and expectation. Due to the research I have been doing, I have discovered that convention disruption is most effective when subtle. Therefore, outlandish, vulgar and shocking art is no longer a convention that will impact psychologically. Be interacting with the viewer in a calm yet slightly altered means, the work may resonate further.
