Bellow is some work produced in light of both the tutor meeting and the written feedback provided. The work is a combination of my poetry and expressionist artwork. The artworks presence is not to tell the story but to illustrate the emotions felt during the writing process. I feel the mistake I was making previously was that I expected the artwork to hold up the concept and influence independently from my research. As I spend so much time in thought regarding the works meaning and story, I presumed others would be able to interpret the same. This is not the case and the artwork should act as an aid to the themes of the work not a direct representation. Further to this, the artwork can show, on a personal level, how my creativity allows a deeper connection and interpretation of the important issues I research. Encouragement of creative thinking regarding the days most pressing issues is the aim of my practice. Reference, information and visual aids combined could achieve this.

The current climate of literary ability drops

Below or above two degree's Celsius

To remain driven; creativity must speak

A new movement of the planet

There is no weak

Series |||| poetry and visual pieces demonstrates a tally. A tally of time, there are currently four strikes visible. The fifth strike completes the tally, it is known to do so and therefore expected. However, little is being done to avoid the final strike. 
The above poetry is a literary compilation of the current situation. Our political leaders (2017) are doing little to reduce the use and investment in fossil fuels. The monetary growth that they bring is widely benefiting the economies of western countries. Although fully aware of this issue, drastic action has not been taken. Therefore, what is there other than documentation of disaster? The spars of our leaders infuriate the public, yet where are the mass protests? Willful blindness has extended throughout the minds of civilization. This has reduced the likelihood of self evaluation and education. The projected 2 degree's cap was recently disregarded by one of the worlds leading 'powers' (US pulling out of the Paris climate deal 2017). In the face of this adversity, how can any positive outlook remain. Possibly to be found in the form of a new pattern. A new movement of words and shapes. The colours of the future and yet to be painted by the blind.
