Lecture- Authorship and collaboration
The lecture that took place today was focused upon authorship and collaboration. This is very relevant currently as I am taking part in a large scale collaboration with many contributing artists. This has been organised with myself and some third years. Therefore, a lot of the lecture resonated with me. Removing the ownership of the work is a way of stopping authority. When that authority is removed then the meaning of the work is free to resonate further. With singular authorship the work holds implications of pre conceived concepts and opinion. if this is removed then the audience's participation is what makes the work. Without the viewer or a listener the the art is less valuable. In a large scale collaboration, the other artists also become the audience.

Curation meeting and plans
Today I met with my chosen artists for the interim show. I was sure to choose the artists I wanted as their work heald strong concept. Without this concept I would not be able to interact politely with them. I feel that art has a very important place in this world and there is an entire generation of people devaluing it and those around them with ill sourced research and over flexing of their western privilege. I would not be able to work with such people. Therefore I was sure to choose people who have a moral and social stance within their work. If these are more or less developed this gives me chance to learn and allows me to share my own research with them. Therefore, this takes the work out of the realm of curator artist and into the realms of a research project that encourages internal discussion and knowledge. For example, one artist's work is claiming to be about climate change. She is highlighting sea pollution and water level fluctuation. Her plans however were including screen print. I explained the issues around this and she has nw decided to make a film. A much less water intensive work that does not drape irony over her work. Knowing that there is opportunity to inspire one another and educate is something that excites me more than the finished work. We are also planning a performance aspect within the space to allow the authorship to become blurred within the exhibition. Our installation style room will house opportunity for the viewer to pass comment on the work and we then gather the documentation needed to value the art in a social dimension.

UK climate risk assessment work
I begun analysing the Uk climate risk assessment report (2017) a few months after it was released this yet. I have been reading around this document and processing the words within it. The most used words are resilience, opportunity and adaptation. My plan for this document is to re write it with the words that it contains. I will possibly have to select a few other words to add however, generally I think this will be effective by rewriting it with an equally positive slant. It would then become ironic. I would like to display this work with the original or with a synopsis of the original. Government documents are designed to be very accessible however they say very little within them. This is something I am aiming to highlight by rewriting the document. Further to this, it is a way of demonstrating to people that art can engage with politics without slogan style work. The curators expressed a great interest in this work when discussing it in my presentation. I hopefully will use this within the show. I have also considered a reading of the work on the opening night. This would not only be a way to experiment with sound but also invites the viewer to discuss the document.
