30th- Figured Fabric Collaboration meeting

30th-
Figured Fabric Collaboration meeting

What we have lost in control we gain in large scale achievement and deflation of ego.

This weeks meeting was mainly to touch base with everyone in the group. One person had pulled out of organisation and another had joined, therefore I needed to fill him in on all that has already been planned/taken place.
So far 70 squares of fabric have been sold and more are being made for distribution next week. This has been a very promising turn out so far. We are also circulating the above poster to textiles and other courses in hope for submission.

Also within the meeting we began to discuss the logistics of the opening night as we plan to have a raffle. This will be done as each square of fabric is numbered so the artist with the matching number can choose a prize. We aim for all of our prizes to be donations, ideally from local companies. We brainstormed a few and delegated who will ask which business. I will be asking Logan's and North/Frank's as I work at these businesses, I will also be asking the birdcage. These are all very popular with students so hopefully a small donation will be made for the event. The concept of a raffle on the opening night will be a combining force hopefully. The entire exhibition deals with ideas of origin and personal belonging. Therefore to be able to have a community feel on the night, would be integral to the inclusive atmosphere we are aiming to create with this exhibition. Further to this, the conversation that can be started through inclusive, collaborative art projects well outreach the value of an individual exhibition.
