Figured Fabric exhibition Collaboration Beginning

Figured Fabric- Material distribution beginning

This week we began distributing material to artists who are collaborating with us for the planned exhibition. This meant organising time to meet with many students and collect the 50p contribution. This project is in early stages meaning it feels slightly disorganised however, as we distribute the material it is clear that there is a lot of interest from around the university. I have also organised for the project to be opened up to textiles also. This will broaden our field and further instils the collaborative, multi-disciplinary and inclusive project. Unfortunately one of the students organising has dropped out. This means that there are less people to share the work. However, this should not make much difference as few people have been pro active within the group anyway. The less people organising seems to make it a lot more simple. This is a trend I have seen when organising things and contacting people. There is alot of claim that people want to be involved and help however commitment is limited and excuses are common. Therefore, It is easy to see who is going to advance themselves within the field through pro active means. Being active within the local creative community is vital. I feel that this is because my works message is that of a very social nature.
