Call For Artiststurn the page is thrilled to announce that submissions are NOW being accepted for Turn the Page 2018, a two day artists’ book event held in the stunning glass Atrium of The Forum building in Norwich City Centre on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th May 2018.
The only event of it’s type and caliber in the Eastern Region, the fair offers a unique platform for artists whose work is book based OR informed by the physical or conceptual properties of the book.

Plans
I am still drafting what to write on the slab. The words below are not poetic enough and come across in a up front propaganda style paragraph. I will work more on the specific wording for this so that the message I wish to convey is taken well instead of with hostility.
Experimentation's
This is a maquette for the planned sculpture piece for the exhibition. I started by rolling the clay out and then used plastic letter presses to create the intends. I practiced with the depth of each letter to see how this would effect the word. Mostly, the depth I pressed in each letter did not have a dramatic effect on how the work looked. For the final work I would make the clay much thicker so that pressing each letter into the clay would not make it brittle.
I then practices with an air drying glaze style paint. I used the colour I had the most spare of not what the final work would be painted with. I think that this makes the work look a little tacky and I am not sure I would use it with the large scale work. Instead I could use terracotta so that once the work is dry it is ready for display. This would make the work more traditional and earthy.
