Risk Assessment
Please indicate any risks that you think the work may present and offer ways of eradicating or reducing this risk.
Group and Project Space: PS4 and PS5
Potential risks (e.g. slip hazard):
1. Big paper-mache sculpture in the corridor and written piece on the floor.
2. Wire on the floor
3. Lifting furniture upstairs (small table and a chair)
4. Painting might fall if not mounted properly.
5. Wire on the floor
6. Large painting might fall if not mounted properly.
7. Big painting might fall if not mounted properly.
8. Split baton method may not work because the frame of the canvas is made at home. The bottom corners of the canvas are slightly bowed.
9. Different loose pieces of paper on the wall can come off.
Controls to mitigate risk (e.g. avoid using liquids in such a way as they are likely to spill):
1.Paper-mache sculpture would be stuck to the floor with blue tack or something similar to make it stable and unmovable. The written piece will be circling around the sculpture, but if it is in the way it can be a wall piece alongside it.
2.Yellow coloured tape will be stuck at various parts of the wire to secure it safely.
3. Will use the lift to carry the furniture.
4. Will probably screw the nails on the wall to mount the acrylic paintings.
5. TV plugs and wire would need to be taped down.
6. Will make sure to attach it to the wall securely to ensure no accidents will occur.
7. Attach the painting to the wall possibly with screw to ensure it doesn’t fall.
8. Need to use drill and screw to mount the canvas. Canvas needs to be stuck to the wall with blue tack or something similar to make the bottom corners straight.
9. Need to make sure the loose pieces are all joined together and then possibly use magnets or tape to stick the whole piece to the wall.
