THE CREATIVE RADICAL
A CREATIVE REVOLUTION?
CREATIVE CHANGE COLLECTIVE

I met up with Sophia today to further our collaborative discussions. We have been talking for some time now about the possibility of collaborating on some sort of progressive embodyment. The really vital aspect of this, that I have found in Sophia and in very few others is the need for physia item. We both feel there is something endearing and overlooked about the physical object and therefore the interaction that takes place a result. In the modern world the use of technology is obviously vital and an amazing way to network people together, however, the visual opens up new routes of attention. This is something I have been looking into, writing about and grappling with throughout my degree so far. It is nice now to have someone else to discuss this idea and concept with. Someone who equally has a drive to prove that the physical place is not lost. the networks that can be produced from this interaction is also of specific interest.
We discussed the concept of  a banner and what they mean. Along with the re-invention of the banner in terms of movement and view. The internet being a media that has taken over the physical banner. Opinions are often aired more online than in person. This coincided with my current work regarding large scale material print/flags/reinvention into clothing
I have emailed to take part in PROCESSIONS, a workshop being run as part of Norwich and Norfolk festival. This would be a really interesting opportunity to investigate and involve myself with those who may also work with fabric, print and 'banner' style artwork. This would also be primary research into the reasons people do this/ethos behind the physical.

Myself and Sophia have planned a 'Making day' on the 10th to meeti in the studio together with pre-developed manifesto's or anti manifesto. Something that will allow us both to see what the other desires from the work.

I have been doing some research into progressive magazines;
http://progressive.org/

As I did my research I noticed that there wasn't much crossover regarding the 'creative' and the written There was a lot of very information based magazine and then some heavily based on creativity and the arts in terms of progressive arts. Arguably, many arts magazines would likely align themselves away from the right. However, funding/tax evasion and ownerships of these magazines would prove different. Explained in this article- https://conversations.e-flux.com/t/the-new-conservatism-complicity-and-the-uk-art-worlds-performance-of-progression/7200
I don't want our work to be labelled political. This will not endear people. I want our work to be labeled social and interactive. Aiming to gain something that has been lost through neoliberal structuring. Which in turn is a result of money and greed not politics.
As the next step in this work, I plan to make 'prototypes' of work that began to investigate what I am aiming to achieve. Although these, as much of my other work, is experimental. I hope working with a collaborator will allow us to implement these works onto another and see the reaction. I have already emailed my editor in regard to a small 'War Of Words' style event at NUA yet I need to speak to storehouse in regard to this.
