28th October- Interim show proposal to Curators

Proposal
My current practice has been developing concepts of work that holds up as an art object but also simultaneously investigates the ways in which creativity and ethical conduct within art functions. My work with an artist collective, ‘the solidarity collective’ leans toward artistic activism and our most recent work, on Black Friday, questions the powers of capital consumerism. The human weave will be made on Black Friday recycling old unusable material into a new function. This ‘weave’ is what I would like to show at the interim show along with the film documentation of the performative making of the work. It will be a large scale circular ‘weave’. Ideally the work will be situated on the floor, partly climbing up the wall. Offering the invitation for people to sit on the work/walk over it. The accompanying film documentation beside it on a monitor, the film won’t have any sound.
Rough dimensions for the weave: from edge to edge at any giver point- 7m (circular)
